Message from Mayor Meloche - September 27, 2024

    Hello residents of LaSalle,

Monday, September 30 is National Day for Truth and Reconciliation. To honour the children who survived residential schools and remember those who did not, many Canadians across the country will wear an orange shirt on this date. Let’s take time to reflect on the survivors, their families, and communities affected by residential schools. Many activities are taking place across Windsor-Essex County.

This significant day, known as the National Day for Truth and Reconciliation, serves as a tribute to the children who never returned home from residential schools, the courageous survivors who lived through those challenging times, and the enduring strength of their families and communities.

  • Traffic Concerns in LaSalle

We understand the frustration with the heavy traffic in and out of LaSalle during rush hours. We know that this is in part due to the construction on Ojibway Parkway between Morton Drive and Sprucewood Avenue, and the construction in Sandwich Town, and drivers using alternate routes to avoid those areas.

  • Hydrant Maintenance - Areas 18 and 19

The annual hydrant maintenance program will take place over the next couple of weeks in LaSalle in the following areas:

    • Area 18: Detroit River to Malden Road, Gary Avenue to Victory Street.
