The LaSalle Fire Service is teaming up with the National Fire Protection Association® (NFPA®) - the official sponsor of Fire Prevention Week™ (FPW™) for more than 100 years - to promote this year’s FPW campaign, “Charge into Fire Safety™: Lithium-Ion Batteries in Your Home.” The campaign works to educate about the importance of buying, charging, and recycling lithium-ion batteries safely.

The Town of LaSalle is doing a study to look at ways to manage Short-Term Rentals (STRs) in our community. This could lead to changes in the Town’s Official Plan, Zoning By-law, and additional municipal by-laws. All outdoor baseball and soccer sport fields close for the season at the Vollmer Complex, 2121 Laurier Parkway, on the Tuesday after Thanksgiving.

The Town of LaSalle will host the Tuesday, October 7, 2025, Regular Meeting of Council at 6:00 pm. Meetings are held in-person in Council Chambers; members of Council and administration may participate virtually. Meetings are streamed live on the Town of LaSalle YouTube Channel.

Following the announcement of a nationwide strike by Canadian Union of Postal Workers (CUPW), the Town of LaSalle is encouraging residents and businesses to prepare for a mail delivery service disruption. This affects the arrival of important Town documents such as property tax bills, water/wastewater bills, invoices, and public notices. 

The Town of LaSalle is preparing to begin Phase 1 of the Malden Road Rehabilitation project, which includes road widening, pedestrian crossings, bike paths, and infrastructure upgrades. Council has approved the tender process, with construction expected to begin in mid-2026 and full road closures planned to improve safety and reduce costs.

National Day for Truth and Reconciliation on September 30, serves as a tribute to the children who never returned home from residential schools, the courageous survivors who lived through those challenging times, and the enduring strength of their families and communities.
