The LaSalle Fire Service is teaming up with the National Fire Protection Association® (NFPA®) - the official sponsor of Fire Prevention Week™ (FPW™) for more than 100 years - to promote this year’s FPW campaign, “Charge into Fire Safety™: Lithium-Ion Batteries in Your Home.” The campaign works to educate about the importance of buying, charging, and recycling lithium-ion batteries safely.
The Town of LaSalle is doing a study to look at ways to manage Short-Term Rentals (STRs) in our community. This could lead to changes in the Town’s Official Plan, Zoning By-law, and additional municipal by-laws. Following the announcement of a nationwide strike by Canadian Union of Postal Workers (CUPW), the Town of LaSalle is encouraging residents and businesses to prepare for a mail delivery service disruption. This affects the arrival of important Town documents such as property tax bills, water/wastewater bills, invoices, and public notices.
The Town of LaSalle is preparing to begin Phase 1 of the Malden Road Rehabilitation project, which includes road widening, pedestrian crossings, bike paths, and infrastructure upgrades. Council has approved the tender process, with construction expected to begin in mid-2026 and full road closures planned to improve safety and reduce costs.
